Fungal forays
Custom guided mushroom forays offer training adapted to your level, a forest outing at the location of your choice, and support in identifying the mushrooms found. You first choose the theme — mushrooms visible in nature or underground fungi such as truffles — then the guide offering that theme. A window will open so you can select a date based on her availability. The activity is then adapted to your needs. For any questions, feel free to contact us.

1. Recommended locations for your custom guided mushroom foray
General guidelines
- Safe location suited to the physical ability of your group participants. _ _ _ _
- Confirmed legal access, with written authorization if it is private property. _
- A location with easy access for emergency services and a clear reference point (parking area, kilometre marker, coordinates).
- Preferably choose a location with cell service, if not, please let us know before the activity so we can prepare an emergency plan.
For the introductory presentation tailored to your level:
- Indoor location or enclosed shelter
- A location covered and shaded or, with adjustable lighting.
- Electricity for the projector or television.
- Examples of suitable options: house, cottage, or community hall or enclosed event tent.
For the main part of the activity, the mycological forest foray:
- A site you know well, with precise directions, especially if there is no trail.
- A forested site can also be an urban park, provided you have permission from the municipality.
- A location away from contaminants such as pesticides, herbicides, hydrocarbon particles, golf courses, railway tracks, or landfills.
- Avoid maple stands, as they usually offer less observable diversity. Exceptions may be possible upon request.
At the end, for help identifying the mushrooms found:
- Tables where we can lay out all the mushrooms found during the foray.
- A location with a comfortable temperature, outdoors if it is warm, indoors if it is cold or raining.
2 – Number of participants
- Your group may include between 1 and 20 participants.
- If you would like your group to include more than 20 participants, you may discuss this with your guide. Additional conditions may apply, such as having a second person present who has first-aid training and a complete first-aid kit.
3 – Origin of participants
- You choose who will be in your group.
- If you would like to open your group to outside participants, we can list it for you on this website. Transaction fees apply when spots are purchased.
- You sell tickets to outside participants at the price of your choice. We suggest $60.
